Hereinafter, “TEAMNET”.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are files or devices that are downloaded to the user's terminal when accessing certain web pages or applications, and that allow storing and retrieving information about the browsing or usage performed from that device.
In this policy, the term “cookies” is used broadly to refer to both cookies and similar technologies, such as local storage of the browser, technical identifiers, or equivalent tools that may be used for analogous purposes. The AEPD takes this same approach in its guide, encompassing cookies and similar technologies under the same analytical framework.
3. What does this website use cookies for?
TEAMNET may use cookies or similar technologies to:
- ensure the technical and secure functioning of the website;
- remember the user's preferences regarding the use of cookies;
- improve the browsing experience;
- obtain aggregated or analytical statistics about the use of the site, when applicable;
- manage, where appropriate, specific functionalities of the website.
The specific use of cookies will depend on the services and tools activated at any given time on the website.
4. What types of cookies exist?
a) According to the entity that manages them
- Own cookies: are those sent to the user's terminal from a team or domain managed by TEAMNET.
- Third-party cookies: are those sent from a domain or team managed by an entity other than TEAMNET.
b) According to their purpose
- Technical or necessary cookies: allow navigation and the basic functioning of the website.
- Preference or personalization cookies: remember certain user options.
- Analytical or measurement cookies: allow analyzing browsing behavior and generating statistics.
- Advertising or marketing cookies: allow managing advertising spaces or tracking for commercial purposes.
c) According to the duration they remain activated
- Session cookies: are deleted when the browser is closed.
- Persistent cookies: remain on the terminal for a certain period.
The above classification follows the typology commonly used by the AEPD in its guide on the use of cookies.
5. What cookies does TEAMNET currently use?
5.1. Technical or necessary cookies
TEAMNET may use strictly necessary technical cookies for the website to function correctly. Among others, they may include cookies intended to:
- remember the user's choice regarding the cookie banner or settings panel;
- ensure the security of the website;
- maintain the technical session when necessary;
- balance the system load or ensure the proper functioning of essential components of the site.
These cookies do not require consent when they are strictly necessary to provide the requested service or for the technical functioning of the site, in accordance with Article 22.2 of the LSSI-CE and the AEPD guide.
5.2. Analytical or measurement cookies
Currently, TEAMNET [DOES NOT USE / MAY USE IN THE FUTURE] analytical cookies, unless expressly informed and, when required, prior consent from the user is obtained.
TEAMNET plans to incorporate audience measurement tools in the future such as Google Analytics. In that case:
- these cookies will not be activated by default before consent, unless a specific configuration allowed them to be framed within an exemption and that assessment was duly reviewed;
- TEAMNET will update this policy to identify the provider, purpose, retention period, and specific cookies used;
- TEAMNET will adapt the banner or settings panel to allow the user to accept, reject or configure these cookies clearly.
The AEPD's January 2024 guide indicates that some audience measurement cookies could be exempt only under very specific and limited conditions, and warns that not all analytics services on the market fall under that exemption, especially when they reuse data for other purposes.
5.3. Advertising or marketing cookies
TEAMNET does not currently use advertising or marketing cookies [CHECK AND MAINTAIN ONLY IF TRUE].
If advertising, remarketing, or commercial tracking tools are incorporated in the future, TEAMNET will update this policy and request prior consent from the user when necessary.
6. List of cookies
Below is a guideline list of categories of cookies that may be present on the website. This table should be reviewed and completed with the actual technical inventory before final publication or after each relevant change:
Name / Identifier | Owner | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
[cookie_consent / similar] | Own | Technical | Remember the user's choice regarding the use of cookies | [for example, 6 months] |
[session / csrf / similar, if applicable] | Own | Technical | Security, session or technical functioning of the site | [session / corresponding period] |
[Google Analytics cookie(s), if activated] | Third-party |
Important:
This table must reflect the actual cookies installed in production. If new tools, integrations, or third-party services are activated, this section must be updated.
7. Legal basis for the use of cookies
The legal basis for the use of cookies will depend on the type of cookie:
- Technical or necessary cookies: are used on the basis of legitimate interest and technical necessity to provide the requested service or allow the functioning of the site.
- Analytical, non-exempt personalization or marketing cookies: will be used on the basis of user consent, when required.
The requirement for consent derives from Article 22.2 of the LSSI-CE, interpreted together with data protection regulations and the AEPD guide.
8. How can you manage your cookies?
You can manage the use of cookies in several ways:
a) From the cookie panel or banner
When TEAMNET uses cookies that require consent, the user may:
- accept them,
- reject them,
- or configure them by categories.
According to the AEPD, the options to accept and reject must be presented in a prominent place and format, at the same level, without rejecting being more difficult than accepting.
b) From the browser
Most browsers allow blocking or deleting cookies from their settings. The user can consult their browser's help options to manage, limit, or delete previously installed cookies.
Keep in mind that disabling certain technical cookies may affect the normal functioning of the website.
9. International data transfers
In general, TEAMNET will seek to use solutions compatible with applicable regulations.
However, if in the future third-party tools such as Google Analytics or similar are activated, this may involve data processing by providers located outside the European Economic Area or by entities with access from third countries. In that case, TEAMNET will update this policy and provide the corresponding information about the provider, applicable guarantees, and, where appropriate, the legitimizing basis for the processing.
10. Updates and changes to the Cookie Policy
TEAMNET may modify this Cookie Policy at any time to adapt it to regulatory, technical, or functional changes of the website.
When relevant changes are introduced, TEAMNET will take reasonable measures to inform the user, including, where appropriate, updating the cookie settings panel.
